I hope that the information below will answer all your questions. If not, please call me personally and I will be happy to assist you further.

About the Portrait Session
Your portrait session will last approximately 1½ hours. The portrait creative fee at my country studio is $95, with on-location sessions starting at $150. You are welcome to bring multiple people and animals, at no additional charge. A variety of poses will be made; the entire group, sub groups, individuals, indoors, outdoors, whatever you would like, this is your portrait session! Appointment times are available from 8:00 AM to the last starting time at 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. In order to serve my clients best I limit the number of photo sessions to only 2 or 3 sessions on any day, I value quality over volume!

What happens next?
You will return to the studio in a few days to see a slide presentation of the images that were created. The images are projected in the sizes you are interested in from a small gift size to wall portraits. Together, we will review the images, choose the best ones and design your portrait order. I will answer all your questions, show you the various options, and help you choose which images will be best suited for the purposes that you want. The presentation is when you place your order; no images go home with you, so please invite everyone that wants to be involved in ordering to come at that time.
The presentation and ordering usually takes 1½ to 2 hours and is included in the creative fee.

What types of products do you offer?
Everyone wants a beautiful piece of art for home or office, such as a wall portrait in your choice of  smooth surface or real artist canvas. I have selected a variety of frames that compliment my artistic style and will frame your wall portraits or you can do your own framing.

Wall groupings containing several wall portraits and storyboards are very popular. Gift boxed folios are always a hit with family members during the holidays. They also make a great way to display your portraits on your desk or to take with you when traveling.

Another very popular item is a family heritage album or baby’s first year album.
Gift certificates make great birthday, holiday, baby or shower gifts.

What type of payments do you accept?
I accept cash, check, Visa and MasterCard.
The creative session fee is due at the time of the portrait session.
At the conclusion of the image presentation 50% of the portrait order is requested to put your order in production.
The remaining balance is due upon completion of the order in approximately 3 to 6 weeks.

What should I wear?
The images that we create today will last a lifetime, so the clothing you choose to wear is a very important factor.

In order to create a timeless look,  I suggest a classic look, using solid colors. Please avoid busy patterns, bold stripes, large graphics, wording, or hot/bright colors. The emphasis should be on beautiful faces and great expressions.

Try on the clothing you choose to wear and check the fit. Is the clothing to tight, to big, do under garments show through,
do they need to be ironed?
Coordinated clothing of similar colors gives a group a united look, a variety of colors will be distracting.
Consider these combinations:
White tops with blue jeans, tan or khaki pants or skirts.
Black tops with blue jeans, tan or khaki pants or skirts.
All black or all white clothing
I
f you have a black animal please don’t wear black.
For outdoor portraits with the family, get your dog a new collar that will blend in with their fur color or coordinate with the family’s color choices. Use a collar that does not have tags.

When is the best time to schedule an appointment?  RIGHT NOW!
OUTDOOR PORTRAITS
It is best to schedule outdoor portraits when the leaves have come back on the trees and the weather is somewhat predictable. May and June are great times, the grass is green, and the wildflowers are in bloom. Early morning, late afternoon, or early evening are the best times for outdoor light. August and September appointment times fill up fast!
So don’t wait too late in to the fall season to book your session.

PUPPIES and KITTENS
Litters of puppies and kittens are best photographed between 7 and 8 weeks. Call me as soon as they are born so you will be sure to get an appointment time before they go to their new homes.
Have your puppy or kitten’s baby portrait made now and you will receive a certificate to come back for a complimentary portrait session for their grown up portrait between 1 and 2 years of age!

IS YOUR CAT OR DOG 7 YEARS OLD OR OLDER?
Our beloved animal companions are not with us as long as we would like, take the time now to have their portrait made. Ask about the Senior Pet discount if your cat or dog is 7 or older.

CHILDREN
Summer is a great time so we don’t have to work around busy school schedules. Children under 3 usually do better at morning appointments. Babies first year is best documented at newborn, 6-7 months and one year.

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
The summer between junior and senior year is the most popular time, it is best to schedule before school starts in the fall. Seniors are welcome to bring along cars, musical instruments, sports or dance equipment, etc. to include in their photo session.

Where are you located?
The studio is located just a few minutes off of Interstate 5 at Exit #286/ North Wilsonville. After scheduling your appointment time directions to the studio will be mailed to you. The studio is open only by appointment.
The studio is located at my farm and there are many interesting things to chase here; donkeys, horses, deer, and a cat. For your pet’s safety and to keep them from getting dirty, a romp through the “meadow muffins” in the pasture will ruin that freshly groomed look! Please keep dogs on a leash at all times, and bring cats in a carrier. Thank you for your cooperation.
